Top 5 Reasons for Hytera TETRA
Two-way Radio
TETRA is the acronym of Terrestrial Trunked Radio. As a global standard developed by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) for digital trunked radio communication, Hytera is characterized by high voice quality and high secured communication.
As a longstanding member of ETSI and the TCCA (TETRA and Critical Communications Association), Hytera has the most extensive know-how in the development of TETRA technology. This benefits all TETRA users: in addition to authorities, industrial concerns and local transport companies, even with a comparatively small network size, still have a high need for radio capacity and security. Hytera provides this with its tailor-made TETRA infrastructure for every expansion level and its high-quality TETRA-radio equipment (e.g. PT3 series, PT5 series) and therefore provides a cost-effective and perfectly suitable radio communication solution for a wide variety of application scenarios. Powerful applications and a network management system (NMS) integrated in the ACCESSNET®-T IP ensure optimal communication in the radio network.
Five good reasons for Hytera TETRA two ways radios
1. Secure & Reliable communication
Hytera TETRA solution meets all the security features required by TETRA standard such as air interface encryption (AIE), end-to-end encryption (E2EE) and authentication. Hytera extends this and also protects its user communication against cyber-attacks with comprehensive IT security measures.
Besides, Hytera's TETRA network ensures system reliability at all times through efficiently designed redundancy mechanisms, such as location redundancy, and rugged and reliable radio terminal, thereby achieves maximum availability.
2. High Level of Interoperability
Unlike many other narrowband communication systems, the Hytera TETRA solution guarantees flexible radio and system compatibility, thereby offering a high degree of freedom when selecting the TETRA technology.
3. Maximum Scalability
The Hytera TETRA solution covers all requirements when maximum flexibility and availability are required with growing demands in terms of critical communication. With unlimited TETRA functionality and almost unlimited connectivity to external applications, it meets the growing requirements and guarantees fully reuse of existing infrastructure – maximum scalability and cost-efficiency.
4. Seamless Network Connection
More and faster services – wherever they are needed: Hytera TETRA solution offers a seamless connection from TETRA to public and private LTE networks and creates a completely convergent and pioneering solution to connect narrow and broadband systems. This enables cross-network use of video streaming, real-time database checking or transmitting large files in mission-critical workflows – improved communication at all levels.
5. Power-saving Mechanism
Hytera TETRA base stations offer a power-saving mechanism to switch off idle timeslots. Thus, only the required timeslots are active and the base station’s power consumption is reduced, meanwhile radio coverage is always fully ensured as the Main Control Channel (MCCH) is always active. When more timeslots are needed for communication, the timeslots will be switched on to work immediately.
Besides the base station, Hytera TETRA two way radios can also function in a power-saving mode. As the RF output power of the radio is inconstant, it will be dynamically adjusted as long as base station's minimum received signal strength requirements are met.
