Challenge

The Mendoza province has a difficult but unique topographic condition. Some remote area like the towns of Cacheuta and Guido Curve are seriously isolated and hard to be connected due to their inconveniently geographical location surrounded by high mountains. First responders in these towns have difficulties in coordinating their operational and tactical resources when emergencies happen.

Solutions

Hytera has deployed a TETRA network in Mendoza, Argentina to help improve the radio communications in border and mountain area. The TETRA solution provided to Mendoza government includes 53 units of Hytera DIB-R5 and outdoor base station and 5,000 units of Sepura handheld radios as well as PTT Connect, an interconnection communications software which enables interoperability between TETRA network and public broadband network.

— 53 base radio stations

— 136 carriers

— 5,000 radios with GPS

— PTT connect

The carriers and base radio stations are distributed in several repeater stations such as Cacheuta, Guido site, Puente del Hierro, Palmira, and communications sites over 145 route, Camino del Pehuenche with base radio stations in Bardas Blancas, Portezuelo del Viento and Las Loicas.
