BBU5801M

4/5G Dual-Mode Extended BBU

The BBU5801M is the baseband unit of the evolved NodeB (eNB) in the long-term evolution (LTE) system. Based on the 3GPP LTE technology, the BBU5801M processes baseband signals, handling uplink and downlink data traffic and controlling RRU functionality via CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface). The BBU5801M establishes wireless connections with the user equipment (UE), manages wireless resources, and offers high-definition voice and video as well as high-speed data services. Considering a variety of BBU application scenarios, the BBU5801M is designed based on advanced open hardware and software architecture, enabling easy deployment and expansion, and supporting smooth evolution and backward compatibility.

Highlights of BBU5801M

High performance

Under the 20 MHz bandwidth, when the time division duplex (TDD) time slot is adopted, the maximum downlink rate in a single cell can reach 112 Mbps (CFG2), and the maximum uplink rate can reach 45 Mbps (CFG0). When the frequency division duplex (FDD) is adopted, the maximum downlink rate in a single cell can reach 150 Mbps, and the maximum uplink rate can reach 75 Mbps. This meets the needs of high-speed transmission. Cells Single LTE baseband process (LBP) board can support three 2T2R 20 MHz cells. Therefore, one BBU5801M with six LBPs can support up to 18 2T2R LTE cells. The number of active users reaches up to 400 in each cell.

High security

With the development of all-IP transmission on the backhaul networks, data faces threats such as eavesdropping and tampering during transmission. The encryption, integrity, and data source authentication functions of data transmission have become more and more important. The BBU5801M supports IPv6 and Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) features. It provides IP-based data encryption, integrity, and data source authentication functions to prevent communication from being tampered with or eavesdropping.

Flexible deployment

Supports a maximum bandwidth of 20 MHz and a variety of frequencies. Configures the bandwidth and frequency without changing hardware. Supports TDD and FDD time slot to meet the needs of different application scenarios. Supports multi-site large-scale networking, small-scale internal networking and single-site networking to provide the most valuable solutions based on different scenarios.

High reliability

The complete software reliability design and fault isolation, data rollback, fault monitoring, and other functions are provided to reduce service downtime and increase system availability.
