Shenzhen, China - November 7, 2025 - Hytera, a leading global provider of critical communications technologies and solutions, reaffirmed its commitment to rail digitalization and interoperability by participating in the 5th ETSI Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) Plugtests event held in Paris, France, from October 27–31, 2025. 
The event, organized by ETSI with support from the European Union (EU), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the Critical Communications Association (TCCA) and the Union Internationale des Chemins de fer (UIC), brought together key industry stakeholders to validate FRMCS standards and multi-vendor interoperability.
FRMCS, the successor to GSM-R, is being developed to meet the rail sector's escalating demand for greater throughput, higher capacity and flexible deployment options. Built on the 3GPP Mission Critical Services framework, FRMCS aims to enable advanced voice, data and video services that underpin safe, efficient and sustainable railway operations.
This year's event gathered more than 100 experts from 45 companies to evaluate solutions for deploying FRMCS over 5G networks and for ensuring smooth interworking with legacy GSM-R systems. This event represents a decisive milestone on the pathway towards deploying FRMCS, with a clear roadmap aiming at Version 3 Specifications by the end of 2027.
During the Plugtests, Hytera demonstrated its Hytera HyTalk MC solution, including the 5G XSecure Rugged Device PNC560, Railway CabRadio CZT902, MCX Application Server, MCX Client, and MCX Dispatcher. The solution achieved successful interoperability with other vendors' equipment across multiple test cases, affirming that Hytera's end-to-end mission-critical communications suite performs reliably within a heterogeneous FRMCS ecosystem.
Hytera is one of the few vendors offering a holistic mission-critical solution tailored for the transportation sector.
