Johannesburg, South Africa – August 7, 2025 – Hytera Communications, a leading global provider of professional communication technologies and solutions, successfully hosted the grand finale of the inaugural Hytera Tech Challenge 2025 in Gauteng Province. The event brought together outstanding engineers across Southern Africa, providing a platform to compete, collaborate, and demonstrate technical excellence.
After several rounds of online qualifiers, 12 finalist teams from Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Eswatini, and South Africa advanced to the finale. Representing a wide range of ages and professional backgrounds—from young engineers to seasoned experts—the participants embraced the competition’s theme: “Connect and Compete.”
The finale featured two stages: a hands-on demonstration and a solution presentation. During the programming sessions, teams worked against the clock to complete tasks such as system configuration and network deployment, testing their accuracy, execution, and problem-solving skills in high-pressure scenarios. In the presentation round, teams pitched their solutions to a panel of experts, demonstrating customer insight, design thinking, and innovation alongside technical expertise.
After a full day of intense competition, the top three teams were awarded the prestigious prize of a “Trip to China,” where they will explore cutting-edge communication technologies on a global stage. Special awards were also presented, including the Quickest Thinker Award and the Best Presentation Award, recognizing outstanding problem-solving and solution delivery.
