About Mission Critical Services

Mission Critical Services (MCS or MCX) refers to reliable broadband communications applications and the underlying infrastructure for safety, security, or emergency crisis management and prevention, where lives or social environments are at stake. This type of communication is typically associated with public safety operations.

3GPP published the first global Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT) standard in 2016 (Rel-13). As 3GPP evolves, MCPTT services continue to be enhanced through Releases 14, 15, 16, and 17. The success of these 3GPP-based MCX (collectively for MCPTT, MCVideo, and MCData) service standards has laid the foundation for the global commercial rollout of nationwide broadband critical communications deployments.

While the key application industry for MCX services is public safety, other verticals that require mission-critical communications are also very interested in deploying MCX-based services (e.g. rail transit, maritime, aviation, and any industry that requires critical communications with stringent requirements).

Hytera MCX solution provides software PTT and hardware PTT on rugged radios and Body-worn cameras. It considers the public safety and industry user's operation habits and use audio technologies such as noise cancellation, scream prevention, echo cancellation, and mute detection. It also presents video technologies such as video retransmission and buffering to improve user experience.
Interworking with Multi-network

Interworking with Multi-network

3GPP defines the interworking interface between MCX and narrowband systems in the R15 version, which supports the interconnection between MCX and TETRA/P25.
Hytera MCX solution supports multi-network interoperability and provides an all-around and unified communication experience. The solution can be deployed with any LTE network, including the private network, hybrid network, and the operator's public network. Hytera MCX solution supports interworking with PSTN / PLMN and TETRA networks through related gateways to extend coverage and reduce communication costs.
