Hytera S1 Licence Free Radios Support Successful Music and Arts Festival in Tashkent

The organizers of the MOCFEST Arts and Creative Festival in Tashkent, Uzbekistan needed a temporary radio solution to enable them to run the three day event smoothly and seamlessly. However, it was difficult to obtain radio frequencies, so a licence-free solution was required. Challenge

The organizers needed a radio communications system to ensure the festival ran smoothly, securely and safely. The Humo Arena is a multifunctional indoor arena with a seating capacity of 12,500, so any communications system had to be able to provide full coverage within and around the stadium, including the outdoor exhibition area.
As it is very difficult to obtain radio frequencies licences from the government in Uzbekistan, the MOCFEST organizers wanted a licence free radio solution. In addition, they required devices with clear, loud audio and with batteries that would last for a full day to avoid the need for frequent charging.

Solutions

Hytera proposed that MOCFEST deploy its S1 LF (Licence Free) two-way radios. The S1 device eliminated the need to obtain a radio frequency allocation and had the advantage of allowing the organizers to use the terminals immediately, thus greatly simplifying the procurement and implementation process. Hytera supplied 70 S1 (LF) radios.

The license-free two-way radios operate in direct mode over pre-set channels, so they are simple and easy to use. This is important especially for users who are not familiar with radios working at the MOCFEST. Using the S1 Pro (LF) radios helps to reduce the risk of frequency conflicts and interference with other communication systems. This makes on-site group communications more efficient and reliable.

Benefits

Simple, Quick Radio Solution

The Hytera S1 Licence Free two-way radios provided the festival organisers with a simple and quick-to-deploy communications solution enabling managers and staff to successfully run the festival in an efficient and secure way.

Clear, Loud Audio

Large music festivals obviously create a lot of noise, so it is essential that festival staff have access to a radio solution with loud, clear audio. The S1 features clear sound, so everyone can hear instructions over the radio and respond quickly and efficiently to any task or emergency situation.

Long Battery Life

A long battery life was another key requirement. The Hytera S1 radio works with a 2200mAh lithium battery, which will last for up to 19 hours (0.5W) or 16 hours (3W) of working time and 360 hours of standby time. This enabled festival staff to concentrate on their work without having to either swap batteries or charge them up.

Simple and Easy to Use

The S1 boasts an unprecedentedly stylish and lightweight design, making it not just a practical communication tool but also a fashionable choice for staff at any festival or major event. The HD OLED display shows users the battery level, frequency, status, channel, and more.
